Stéphane Lerouge

Raymond Chirat Prize

Posted on october 15, 2018

“Bernadette saw the Virgin Mary in Lourdes, but I saw Bertrand Tavernier in Brittany!” Stéphane Lerouge received this year’s Raymond Chirat Prize with this amusing phrase.

He remembers the arrival of Bertrand Tavernier in his high school and the director’s enlightening remark, "A film is 50% image and 50% sound." Well, Stéphane Lerouge decided to focus on sound, and has become the greatest historian of film music today.
