Rolling out his full arsenal of comedic devices, Chaplin creates one of his most accomplished works with The Gold Rush. Who doesn’t immediately think of the famous, delightful Dance of the Rolls, or the scene where a famished Charlie is forced to eat his shoe?

A huge international success upon its release in 1925, The Gold Rush has not aged a bit, thanks to the remarkable work of Immagine Ritrovata, the restoration lab of the Cineteca di Bologna (the international standard in heritage film restoration). Chaplin’s humor and melancholy will be enhanced by one of the most prestigious orchestras in France, the National Orchestra of Lyon, directed by Frank Strobel, in the perfect setting, the beautiful Auditorium of Lyon.
